The Valmonte Farm and Garden is a piece of paradise in the middle of PVE. With her expertise, Nancy tends to and cares for the Garden genuinely and beautifully, enriching so many lives. It is the happiest place in our community for little people… incorporating play, gardening, animal care and a true appreciation for our earth. Those blessed enough to experience the Farm and Garden feel so satisfied and complete, always wanting to return the next day. Everything this sanctuary provides to all generations in PVE is truly perfect, real, and the greatest treasure.

Valmonte Farm is the most valuable gem Palos Verdes has. My volunteer time there gave me practical knowledge that I can’t put a price on. VF blessed me and my family in times of grief beyond belief. So grateful for that little sliver of paradise.

The farm has such a peaceful, welcoming vibe where you can stroll through beautiful gardens, visit happy chickens, and pick up fresh, organic produce. What makes it even more special is the mission behind it: helping young adults with special needs build confidence and life skills through hands-on work. The Valmonte Farm and Garden is the vibrant oasis that breathes life into our community. It provides the much-needed connection to nature that our souls long for. Nancy and crew inspired me to begin a garden my backyard. What a beautiful contagion.

Valmonte farm and garden is a hidden treasure. With a mud kitchen, lively chickens, and weaving pathways of fruit tress and flowers, we feel like we stepped into a storybook. My kids could not have imagined a better scene to allow their imaginations to run wild.

I always look forward to visiting Valmonte Farm & Garden. I know I will be greeted by the clucking of chickens and the colorful garden full of food and flowers. The unique and fun use of repurposed items that are thoughtfully placed throughout the grounds sparks ideas of creativity in me. Most of all though I love seeing Nancy and hoping she has some of that amazing raspberry jam.

Valmonte Gardens has been a part of our lives for so many years and for so many reasons. Our son Reed had some tough years during middle school. When we transitioned back to the school district from the NPS, Miss Nancy from Valmonte Gardens offered Reed a safe place to heal, reaclimate, and ultimately contribute to his community. We are forever grateful. The Gardens has blossomed from a field of brush and a few planters to a thriving piece of heaven! The grounds are lush, colorful, and so beautiful. It serves and provides for the PV community and allows individuals like Reed to have purpose and something to look forward to!! Thank you Miss Nancy , Valmonte Gardens, and PVUSD!

I’ve loved working in gardens since I was a child who, during WWII, had his own Victory Garden. Growing up we had fruit trees, fruit patches and vegetable gardens and Valmonte Farm and Garden has let me continue doing what I like to do.

Reflecting on all the things I appreciate in my life, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Nancy LeMargie and the beautiful Valmonte Farm and Garden that she created and runs. 6 years ago , I found her and Valmonte Farm on instagram. After 1 visit, I knew that this would be a place I would return to time and time again, usually with my grandkids in tow. For Nancy to take a plot of land , with nothing more than a few dirt patches and turn it into the magical place that it is - for children and adults alike- is nothing short of miraculous. Her vision transformed this area into a sanctuary, full of blooming flowers, fruit trees, clucking chickens, multiple garden beds full of vegetables, and most of all — happy people. My grandkids love so many things about this place. Nancy’s farmer’s markets on Wednesday and Saturday were a time to pick up our favorite homemade jams, buy delicious homemade cookies and quench our thirst at the lemonade stand. We also were able to chat with all the friendly volunteers who happily gave their time to keep the farm running. My grandkids learned about native fruits and vegetables and got to taste test them right off the vine. What a treat! We got to experience Nancy’s enchanting glass house full of her beautiful collection of colored glass- reflecting prisms and rainbow colors everywhere. The farm is a safe place, tucked away from the reality of the world - a safe haven during COVID, where we could be outside and appreciate nature. So many friendships have been made at the farm. So many lovely people who enjoy visiting and appreciate Nancy’s efforts to keep this farm available for the community. She has always been inviting, inventive and inclusive , adding her creative flair to all areas of the garden. Ultimately, I have to say that this place is truly a hidden gem and Nancy LeMargie is the magician who keeps it magical.
